Government Scams are when…
Government Scams are when an imposter pretends to be the government and tries to get personal information from the victim or say they owe the government money.
How You Can Adapt From Government Scams:
- Talk and get help from someone else about your situation, you should never go through this alone.
- Contact the government agency about the message to verify or report.
- Do not pay or share information without verifying.
- If they have your information, you might risk having your identity stolen.
- File a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission: ReportFraud.ftc.gov
- Retain proof and documentation of the scam in case you need it in the future.
