How You Can Adapt From Credit Card & Bank Scams:
- Talk and get help from someone else about your situation, you should never go through this alone
- Contact the credit card or bank company to report the scam, freeze your accounts, and dispute the charges.
- Request a new credit card if it was stolen & change bank account information.
- If they have your information, you might be at risk of having your identity stolen.
- Monitor transactions and other accounts to see if there’s other suspicious activity.
- File a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission: ReportFraud.ftc.gov
- Set up alerts to notify future purchases.
- Retain proof and documentation of the scam in case you need it in the future.
