Travel Scams are when…
Travel scams are when a victim pays for a vacation that didn’t exist, or was promised a heavily discounted vacation, etc.
How You Can Adapt From Travel Scams:
- Talk and get help from someone else about your situation, you should never go through this alone.
- Contact the travel company through official channels to verify the booking.
- If you paid the travel scam, file a dispute with your bank or credit card company.
- If they have your information, you might risk having your identity stolen.
- Monitor transactions and other accounts to see if there’s other suspicious activity.
- File a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission: ReportFraud.ftc.gov
- Retain proof and documentation of the scam in case you need it in the future.
